The Big 3 receivers show their worth
The one thing Poles wanted for Williams was weapons. He already had D.J. Moore, who had a huge season last year despite struggling play from the quarterback.
This season, in addition to Moore, the Chicago Bears have six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen and the ninth overall pick, Rome Odunze. There is high hope that these three receivers will terrorize opponents’ defenses. All three are great route runners, tough, and physically able to make any type of catch.
With the Big 3, the Chicago Bears can create a lot of mismatches. Odunze would be WR1 on most teams. In Chicago, he is WR3. He won’t face many of the other teams’ best defenders. They will be too preoccupied with Moore and Allen.
Odunze can excel in this role.
Moore will have another big season. Poles rewarded Moore with the biggest contract in Chicago Bears history. Moore will show that even with all the additional talent, he is still WR1.
Allen wants to show that he still has plenty in the tank. He had arguably the best season of his illustrious 11-year career. He had 1,243 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. Additionally, in the past five seasons, he has 5,324 yards and 25 touchdowns. He is aging like fine wine.
Allen is also in the final year of his contract. Being surrounded with so much talent he may feel re-energized. He said he was open to a new contract with the Chicago Bears. If he has another big season the feeling could be mutual.
Prediction: Moore has 1,425 yards and 8 touchdowns. Allen has 1,118 yards and 6 touchdowns. Odunze has 874 yards and 5 touchdowns.
