Bud Dupree
Bud Dupree was the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first-round pick in 2015. He has had a solid career and is entering his tenth season. He understands the intricacies of the position and can not only help Booker but also Sweat. With the Chicago Bears’ situation at pass rush, he could split time with Walker and stay fresh throughout the season.
Additionally, if he shows he still has a lot left in the tank it will go a long way to helping him find a job elsewhere.
Joe Tansey of Bleacher Report feels that Dupree could be great with the Bears, adding depth help. He noted that Poles did a great job of building both the offense and defense.
The additions that general manager Ryan Poles made on defense over the last few years should continue to reap rewards as well. Chicago’s roster does not contain many holes at the moment, but it should explore the free-agent market to add a bit more depth before training camp begins because you can never be 100 percent satisfied with your roster in the NFL.
There might not be many holes left but adding a solid veteran always helps. Chicago is becoming a popular landing spot so that helps give Poles added options. Dupree could be one of those options.
