Rome Odunze, Wide Receiver
The Chicago Bears used the ninth pick in the draft on wide receiver Rome Odunze. In a normal draft, Odunze would be the first wide receiver taken. However, this year’s receiver class was one of the deepest in history. With Marvin Harrison Jr and Malik Nabers, Odunze became the third receiver picked.
That could not have worked out better for the Chicago Bears.
Now Odunze plays for a team stacked at wide receiver. The Bears have D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen, two of the elite receivers in the NFL. Odunze has the skills to be a
starter right away. At 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, he has the size to create mismatches. Additionally, he can bully defenders and make contested catches. He also has the speed and athleticism to make big plays after the catch.
During camp, Odunze will get a lot of reps with backups. People will see how good he really is. He will make them look bad. This is exactly how the Chicago Bears envision the regular season going as well. With defenses zeroing in on D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen, Odunze will see many one-on-one matchups that he will manipulate.
We will see Odunze’s skills on display during camp. He will make the wow plays and fans will fall in love with him right away.
