Jaylon Johnson, Cornerback
Cornerback Jaylon Johnson was on a mission last season. He was in the final year of his rookie deal and wanted to get paid like one of the best at his position. He certainly did that, having a career season. He ranked among the best of the cornerbacks in most of the categories.
As a result, the Chicago Bears rewarded Johnson with a new four-year, $76 million
deal. Now that he has his new deal, he needs to avoid the letdown that a lot of players who sign new big deals have. He wants to show people that 2023 was not a fluke. What he did that season will become the norm for him.
Johnson wants to remain in the conversation of the best in the league. To do that, he needs to continue to showcase his skills and progress. He still has areas in which he can improve. The Chicago Bears have a good young stable of cornerbacks and Johnson will be the leader.
Johnson will show, starting in minicamp, that the contract he signed will still not be enough for his talents.
