Caleb Williams, Quarterback
Of course, the biggest name to watch during all of the Chicago Bears’ camps is Caleb Williams. He is the top pick in the draft and has the “generational talent” tag on him. He draws comparisons to Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. There are many people drawn to him. They either want to see him succeed or fall flat on his face.
Williams has a supreme confidence that borders on cockiness. He does not care
about what other players do and how teams expect him to do things. He will do things his own way and no one will tell him otherwise. In that fashion, he reminds fans of Jim McMahon, also known as “The Punky QB.”
We already saw how Williams’ every move is watched. During 7-on-7s in the first week of OTAs, he struggled. That made headlines not only in Chicago but also throughout the league. Never mind that he did not have his entire array of weapons.
The next week, he had a great session during 7-on-7s. That did not bring the same attention as the previous week.
Now, in the mandatory camp, Williams will have nearly all of his weapons. We will see how he performs with them. He will show his talents and will impress many.
