Noah Brown, Houston Texans
One of the frustrating things about the Chicago Bears is how they lacked physicality. Whether it was on offense, defense, or special teams, the Bears were too often bullied. That was not the case for much of the franchise’s history. It used to be that opponents knew they were in for a physical fight when they played the Chicago Bears.
Noah Brown can help with that. He is a very physical receiver who will wear down defensive backs. While some of the other receivers could stretch the defense and make big plays downfield, Brown can be a great option as a possession-based receiver. He can move the chains and keep drives going.
Brown can use his 6-foot-2, 220-pound frame to outmuscle defensive backs. He will bully them and use his body to keep them from breaking up the pass. He could go to the middle and make the tough and contested catches.
While Brown can be the bruiser for the Bears, he can also make the big play downfield. For the Houston Texans in 2023, he had 33 catches for 567 yards and 2 touchdowns. He averaged a career-high 17.2 yards per catch. Moore led the Bears, averaging 14.2 yards per catch.
Brown could give the Bears a nice mix of big-play and intermediate-play receivers. He can switch with Moore and go deep while Moore goes underneath. It gives Waldron some flexibility in playcalling.
