QB Tyson Bagent
I observed someone on Twitter call him the “Secret Bagent” yesterday, that’s pretty cool.
Bagent came into camp as the Chicago Bears fourth string quarterback, and it seemed like he was just competing for a practice squad spot with Nathan Peterman. But now after a few solid preseason performances, and a really good camp, he’s fighting with offseason acquisition PJ Walker for the backup QB job, something no one saw coming.

Bagent entered the game abruptly yesterday after Justin Fields was hit hard. It seemed as if he was the acting backup yesterday, which was interesting to say the least. Matt Eberflus has mentioned that the job is up in the air, but I didn’t see that coming.
Bagent ended the going 7/14 for 43 yards and running in a touchdown in the Chicago Bears loss. He also threw a tough interception, but on the play before, he threw a beautiful ball that should’ve been caught for a touchdown, but was dropped.
He deserves a spot on this roster. It’s a simple as that. And with the way Walker has performed this far, he deserves to be the backup, regardless of his lack of NFL experience. It shouldn’t be a true ‘surprise’ to anyone, especially if you’ve watched his play as of late.
