Round 7, pick 218: Viliami Fehoko, EDGE San Jose State / 6’4 276 LBS
Another round, another edge rusher! This defense needs them and in this mock we aren’t going to let it slide. Fehoko is an intriguing third day pick that could very easily get drafted earlier than the seventh.
The fifth-year senior out of San Jose State is surprisingly twitchy for his massive size, he logged an impressive 12 sacks in 2022 to go along with 44 QB hurries. He can get to the quarterback with the best in this class. The big question with Fehoko is where he fits schematically, most see him as your typical left end in a 4-3.
However, with added muscle and skills he could easily translate to traditional edge in a 3-4. He also needs to work on setting the edge against bigger lineman and becoming a better finesse rusher.
Seventh round picks aren’t necessarily for ‘need’, but more just pure talent. I believe if he’s here like he was in my simulation, he’d be a good fit for this Chicago Bears team. He could develop with the rest of their young defense.
