Round 5, pick 136: TE Zack Kuntz, Old Dominion / 6’7 255 LBS
Yes, you read that correctly. Zack Kuntz is a massive force of nature at the tight end position, listing at 6 feet 7 inches. Kuntz athleticism for his size makes him one of the most unique tight end prospects in a long time. He ran a 4.61 at the combine which blew scouts away. He has the frame and potential to be a real diamond in the rough. After his combine performance Kuntz has skyrocketed up some draft boards.
I’m aware that the Chicago Bears signed Robert Tonyan in free agency to pair with current starter Cole Kmet, but quite frankly that doesn’t move the needle for me. Kmet has been very inconsistent over the course of his young career and Tonyan hasn’t been the same player we all saw in 2020. Kuntz would provide another potential spark for this offense and can be developed over the next few years.
Zack Kuntz tested out of this world his RAS score ranks 1 out of 1054‼️
In layman’s terms he’s the most athletic TE to test at the NFL combine 😳 .. Would love him in Cincy #RuleTheJungle

Kuntz has subpar hands and needs to continue filling out his huge frame. Another area he needs to improve in, is his pass and run blocking. He still plays like a receiver based on his tape but again this is something good coaching could potentially fix.
He also started only 15 games during his entire collegiate career, as he transferred from Penn State to Old Dominion in 2021. That was a career-changing move for Zack as he 7 touchdowns on 83 catches during his junior and senior seasons. He only played 5 games last season due to an injury, so the risk is there. But if he’s available here I don’t see why he’s not at least worth the consideration.
