Round 2, Pick 53: RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama / 5’9 200 LBS
Relax, this isn’t that early for a running back! Especially considering in this simulation the number of picks Poles has. Jahmyr Gibbs can fit into any offensive scheme in the NFL and would immediately make an impact for this Chicago Bears offense. I’d even be tempted to take him earlier than this. Gibbs is a stud, and it would surprise me if he’s not an All-Pro one day.
Gibbs ran the second fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, running a stellar 4.36. If you watched any Alabama football during the last two seasons, you already know how capable this guy is. He’s a fantastic pass catcher out of the backfield, which I believe this team desperately needs, and hits the gap better than any running back in the draft. Watch this impressive clip of Gibbs burning everyone on the field.

He needs to work on pass protection but if he bulks up a tad, I think he’ll be alright. He won’t be a three down back his rookie season but his pass catching ability alone makes him worth this selection. Why he isn’t being mentioned with Bijan Robinson is confusing to me, especially in a modern-day NFL that loves backs like Gibbs.
