Round 4, Pick 133: WR Dontayvion Wicks, Virginia / 6’1 206 LBS
Here’s another prospect that the Chicago Bears seem to be doing their homework on, as Wicks recently met with the team. After the recent acquisition of star WR D.J. Moore, the Bears likely won’t be looking at wide receiver too early, over some of their other needs.
I expect them to target a guy like Dontayvion Wicks. Wicks had an immaculate 2021 campaign with the Virginia Cavaliers, but then failed to have that same production in the next season. As Emma Wolfe of our site wrote earlier, Wicks was a monster in 2021.
He broke Virginia’s single-season receiving yardage mark in 2021 with 1,203 yards. He finished his collegiate tenure with 34 20-yard catches and six 40-yard touchdowns, demonstrating his big-play ability. He averaged 21.1 yards per grab in 2021. Over his final two seasons at Virginia, the Senior Bowl participant caught 90 passes for 1,694 yards and 12 scores.

Wicks fits the mold of what the Chicago Bears want at wide receiver. He’s got big play potential due to his fantastic hands and size, and he gets off the line fantastically for his size. I’d like for the Bears to wait until a pick like this, or even later to get another wide out.
