The Chicago Bears added to their depth by claiming this valuable young player.
The Chicago Bears have a few holes that they will need to fix in order to be ready for next season and one of those holes is the offensive line. With four positions up for grabs on the line and the Chicago Bears expected to take a lineman in this years draft, the Chicago Bears added to their offensive line depth with acquiring Jordan McFadden off waivers from the Los Angeles Chargers per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Adding to the line
The Chicago Bears acquired lineman Jonathan McFadden from the Chargers after they placed him on waivers. Hoping that nobody would snag McFadden so they could put him back on their practice squad didn’t work with the Bears, who have a need for lineman, swooping in and stealing McFadden away.
Current state of the offensive line and what’s next?
The Bears have the tenth pick in this years NFL Draft after drafting their franchise Quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick last year. According to experts they predict that the Bears will draft an Offensive Lineman given they have four open spots with right tackle Darnell Wright having a job for next season according to Alyssa Barbieri of Bears Wire.
The Chicago Bears were one of the worst offensives last season with ranking close to the bottom in every major category. Adding McFadden to bolster the line is exactly what the Bears needed to do to add more protection for Caleb Williams.
With their tenth pick the Bears are expected to draft an offensive lineman with most expects predicting the Bears will take Tackle/Guard Will Campbell out of LSU. Campbell is know as the most polished lineman in the draft and potentially pairing him with Wright and McFadden would give the Bears a stacked offensive line with them only needing to fill one or two more spots for the line.
