The Chicago Bears announced via press release they have activated corner back Isaiah Frey and wide receiver Rashad Ross to the active roster and signed defensive tackle Roy Philon to the practice squad.
The team also waived wide receiver Chris Williams, running back Shaun Draughn and terminated the contract of tight end Matthew Mulligan. Draughn struggled during Sunday’s game at San Francisco with special teams and the move now gives the Bears three running backs on the roster.
Ross is expected to be the teams new kick returner going into Monday Night’s game in New York. He was an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State and spent last season on the Chiefs and Titans practice squads.
Frey spent last season with the Bears as the nickelback and gives the Bears more depth at corner back with the injury to Charles Tillman. The team tried to re-sign Kelvin Hayden but couldn’t come to an agreement.
