The Chicago Bears have agreed to a 1-year-deal with defensive tackle Jarvis Jenkins, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. The deal will become official when Jenkins passes his physical today.
The 26-year-old Jenkins was in talks with the Bears for a few days and visited Halas Hall looking to get a deal done. He missed his rookie year in 2011 with a torn ACL but rebounded in 2012 recording 25 tackles in 14 games. Jenkins had two sacks in 2013, as he started five games with the Redskins.
The former Clemson star played defensive tackle and defensive end for the Redskins last season, but have to imagine the Bears will use Jenkins as a nose-tackle in their 3-4 defense.
