It won’t be long before Jay Cutler and the Bears offense takes the field in a few months. Today the team officially announced their 2014 NFL preseason schedule which includes a trip to Seattle to take on the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks.
The team will open the 2014 preseason by hosting the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field between August 7th-10th. The date hasn’t been officially determined yet. The Bears will also host the second preseason game of the year when the Jacksonville Jaguars come into town on Aug.14. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
The final two games will be on the road starting between Aug. 21-24 as they take on the Seattle Seahawks. The third preseason game is traditionally where starters play the most, so a matchup against the Seahawks could be a good test for the Bears.
Wrapping up the preseason will be another matchup against the Cleveland Browns who will host the Bears on either Aug. 28 or 29. The two teams have a contract stemming from 2004 which allows them to alternate home and away every year.
