The Florida Gators Pro Day on Tuesday marked the end of Pro Day’s this year as all 32 NFL teams were in attendance to watch some Gators NFL Draft prospects. Despite their recent down slide in college football, the Gators still have some interesting prospects this year.
Outside linebacker Dante Fowler leads that group as he projects to be at least a top 10 pick when the draft takes place later this month. It’s hard imagining Fowler falling outside of the top 5 with his impressive Scouting Combine and now Pro Day and even he would be shocked if the Jaguars don’t take him at number three.
Then there is offensive lineman D.J. Humphries who is projected to go in the second round of most mocks. The Bears were one of eight teams to send their offensive line coaches to see Humphries. The offensive tackle hasn’t met with the Chicago Bears before the Draft, but the team has met with center Max Garcia.
Garcia is one of the top center prospects in the draft despite not working out at the Scouting Combine due to a shoulder injury. The reports out of Gainesville from scouts were that Humphries and Garcia both performed well at today’s Pro Day.
Other Gators prospects and projected draft rounds working out today include:
- Matt Jones, RB (fifth-sixth)
- Hunter Joyer, FB (7th-UDFA)
- Trenton Brown, OT (7th-UDFA)
- Chaz Green, OT (UDFA)
It’s unlikely that Fowler would fall to Chicago at number seven, but the Bears could be in play for Garcia as center is now a need for the team following the release of Roberto Garza.
