Ameer Abdullah joins the Chicago Bears
If Johnson wants a pure pass catcher, Ameer Abdullah might be his best bet. With the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024, Abdullah caught a career-high 40 passes for 261 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. Over his entire 10-year NFL career, Abdullah has caught 203 passes for 1,468 yards and 11 touchdowns.
That doesn’t mean he is a pure zero is the running department however. The Raiders were forced to shuffle their running back room due to injuries and infectiveness. In turn, Abdullah rushed 66 times for 311 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 4.7 yards per carry.
Abdullah would give Johnson the lightning to Swift’s thunder. While Swift would be trusted between the tackles, Abdullah can operate in space. To finish out the trio, Roschon Johnson can continue working as the goal line running back, giving Chicago a well-rounded trio.
Johnson will undoubtedly want to hoard playmakers as he comes to Chicago. The Chicago Bears can add a pretty strong one in Adbullah through free agency.
