Brandon Dorlus, Oregon
Brandon Dorlus has a good combination of strength and movement. He reacts well to the snap and has a solid get-off and accelerates off the line of scrimmage well. He has good hands and an arm-over move and the agility to clear his lower half. Additionally, he has the strength to overpower weaker blockers and ragdoll them.
Dorlus is another player who can play both on the outside and inside, giving the Chicago Bears added flexibility. He has the quickness to set the edge or get past blockers and has the strength to go inside and move blockers away. He has heavy hands that he uses to knock offensive linemen or tight ends off balance. Also, he uses his quick and heavy hands to swat the blocker’s initial punch attempt.
Dorlus has an effective bull rush that can force offenses to pay more attention to him. He utilizes his lower body strength and leg drive to move the lineman backward and into the quarterback. Again, he creates space for the other defenders to make plays by attracting double teams.
