The Chicago Bears defeated the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field, snapping their ten-game losing streak. This victory marks the first time the Chicago Bears have won in Green Bay since 2015 and in general, since the 2018 season when the team clinched the NFC North division crown at Solider Field.
Chicago Bears star wide receiver DJ Moore had a few simple words to say after the win
DJ Moore snagged in the big grab from Caleb Williams to set up the game-winning 51-yard field goal from Cairo Santos. The veteran weapon finished the game with nine catches for 86 yards and a score. Immediately following the game, Moore was very blunt with his thoughts on whether it did anything for the team’s future in terms of the big picture.
“We beat the Packers, F*** ’em,” Moore said.
The pain behind the fact that the team hasn’t defeated Green Bay in over six years certainly weighs on the players every year even though they weren’t around way back then. The embarrassment that the fan base and franchise as a whole have taken from the Packers over the years has not been fun, and this win is a major breath of fresh air to close out the campaign.
The road now for the Chicago Bears runs through this offseason. The team officially clinched the tenth overall draft choice in the first round with today’s victory, which they can hopefully use to help out the offensive line. Along with the draft, the biggest head coaching hire in the history of the franchise awaits. Whether it’s Ben Johnson, Brian Flores, or any other primary candidate, the front office is hoping for a much different on-field product when the fall rolls around.
