The Chicago Bears with the first of their two seventh-round picks have selected running back Kerrith Whyte Jr. from Florida Atlantic.
Whyte Jr. is the second running back selected by the Bears in this year’s draft as the team now has four running backs, with just one having three or more years of NFL experience.
In three years at Florida Atlantic, Whyte scored 15 total touchdowns as he was effective in the running game, passing game, and return game. His best season came last year where he had 1026 total scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns. Whyte provides the additional special teams depth as Ryan Pace’s staff has used consecutive picks on players with kick return experience.
