Round 3: Calen Bullock, Safety – USC
With Eddie Jackson getting older, and more expensive, the Chicago Bears need to find another safety to go along with their already young secondary. Calen Bullock is a ball hawking safety for the Southern California Trojans, and is projected to go late in the second, or early in the third, as we have him here. He came into the season as a fringe first-rounder but has struggled tackling and at times struggled in coverage during the 2023 season.
So far, Bullock has 9 interceptions over his two and a half years at USC, to go along with 149 total tackles. Being 6’3, he has a huge frame and can cover most of the field when in coverage. A traditional zone safety, who can also thrive in nickel packages. Adding another defensive back is a need for Poles and the Chicago Bears.

Bullock will surely need to bulk up and improve as a downhill tackler in order to fulfil his potential at the next level. His upside as a ball hawking safety is too much to pass up on here, as he could make some splash plays happen for a defense that desperately needs some sort of spark in the back end.
I could also see the Bears going traditional cornerback here, especially if Jaylon Johnson leaves in free agency.
