Round 5: T’Vondre Sweat, DT – Texas
As we round out this mock draft, may I remind you that this is all subjective to the Chicago Bears, and if they trade down from their projected two top-five picks.
Sweat would be an ideal grab at this point in the draft, as he offers another 3-tech defensive tackle for this coaching staff to try and develop. At this moment, we truly have no idea what coaches will or won’t be on this Bears staff come draft time, but for this purpose we assume they stay in the same scheme defensively.
For a fifth-round pick, Sweat would be a steal in my eyes. He’s arguably one of my favorite d-lineman in this class.

He’s a strong, smart player who has much to improve, but with that being said, his potential is through the roof. Just check the clip above of him completely decimating the TCU offensive line for a sack. The redshirt senior has lots of experience, and the sky could be the limit for Sweat.
