Round 2, Pick 41: RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina / 6’0, 220 lbs

The luxury of having another pick almost right after you make your early second-round selection will be a true blessing for the Bears. With new blood coming into this offense, Ben Johnson may be on the lookout for a new running back after last year’s dismal attempt to get the run game going. With an improved offensive line, the Bears, in theory, should be able to run the ball better in 2025. That is if Caleb Williams can also take another step in his development.
The back in question here is Omarion Hampton. The grade on Hampton for many teams is first-round, but we’ve seen backs slip into this part of the draft quite often, as every year it proves unpredictable in some sense. You can check out the deeper dive I did on Hampton a few days ago, linked here.
Omarion Hampton posted an incredible 9.93 RAS with a 4.47 40 at 6’0, 221lbs 🐏

The former UNC Tarheel brings a bowling-ball approach as a back and with sneaky speed. He ran for 1,660 yards and 16 touchdowns during the 2024 season. He also caught 38 passes and got into the endzone twice through the air, even though he may not be as much of a duel threat as some others in this class.
Hampton hasn’t been brought in for a top-30 visit by the Bears. They may have their eyes on someone else, and it’s a very deep class at the RB position. They may also view it as silly due to Hampton potentially going in the top 20 or top 25.
