The Chicago Bears could be without one of their starting offensive lineman when they travel to Carolina on Sunday.
During today’s practice at Halas Hall, offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod went down with a knee injury. While coach Marc Trestman did not specify the injury, he said that Bushrod did go down to the ground in pain.
Taking over for Bushrod was Michael Ola, who would likely get the start if Bushrod can’t go on Sunday.
Did Not Practice
In addition to Bushrod not practicing, a few defensive players were out as well. Defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff missed practice after being limited yesterday. He has not passed the NFL concussion protocol and is listed as questionable. Safety Ahmad Dixon missed practice again and is unlikely to play Sunday.
Linebacker Shea McClellin has been ruled out for Sunday’s game. McClellin will miss his third straight game after injuring his hand against the San Francisco 49ers.
Limited
After returning to practice yesterday, Jared Allen was limited in practice today. Allen has been dealing with pneumonia and missed Sunday’s game against the Packers.
The Bears offensive line has been shaken up with the injuries to Roberto Garza and Matt Slauson. Both were limited today in practice and remain questionable. Their status has been getting better and better, so a return could be within the next two weeks.
Safety Sherrick McManis has been dealing with a quad injury that has sidelined him the last week. McMannis was limited today but should be making progress to returning soon.
Full
Brandon Marshall fully participated in practice for the second straight day and will play Sunday in Carolina. Joining Marshall was linebackers Lance Briggs and D.J. Williams who both sat out practice yesterday.
