The Chicago Bears have continued their very long and extensive search to find a new head coach. The Bears announced on X, that they have completed an interview with interim head coach Thomas Brown.
Thomas Brown replaced former head coach Matt Eberflus following the horrible ending to the Thanksgiving day game against the Detroit Lions. Thomas Brown was hired last offseason as passing game coordinator, then was promoted to offensive coordinator after the firing of Shane Waldron, and then was promoted to interim head coach just a few weeks later. Prior to joining the Bears, Brown served as an assistant for the Rams and was the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers during the 2023 season.

It was confirmed that Brown would be getting an interview by the Bears front office after Ryan Poles expressed his commitment to interviewing him.
Is Thomas Brown a good candidate for the Chicago Bears?
In the five games that Brown served as interim head coach, the Bears held a 1-4 record. The first three losses included three blowout losses to the 49ers, Vikings, and Lions. The fourth loss was an embarrassing 6-3 loss to the Seahawks. In the four losses, the Bears were outscored 108-45.
However, in the final game of the regular season, the Bears finally were able to get a victory over the Green Bay Packers. A 24-22 victory thanks to a clutch game winning field goal by Cairo Santos. It was the first win over the Packers since 2018, and it was also the first win at Lambeau Field in over 10 years.
Thomas Brown impressed the front office by coming into an incredibly difficult situation and earning the respect of the players. Brown was also able to create a great relationship with Caleb Williams, improving his quarterback play once Brown took over as playcaller.
I personally feel Brown will not be hired for the head coaching job due to their being much more qualified candidates such as Ben Johnson, Mike McCarthy, Todd Monken, and Pete Carroll. However, Brown has shown he 100 percent deserves another opportunity as an offensive coordinator in the NFL and I do believe he will get that chance.
