The Chicago Bears will trim their roster to 53 players before Saturday’s deadline of 3 p.m. CT, which means the team will make a total of 22 cuts. They can also claim players off of waivers beginning Sunday as well as start a practice squad.
Stay up to date with the Cubs roster moves in this post.
David Bass
Bear Backer’s Jake Perper is reporting that David Bass has been cut. He’s a strong candidate to return to the practice squad.
The #Bears have waived OLB David Bass, per my sources. 15 cuts down, 7 to go.

AJ Cruz
The Bears brought in the former Arena League star to compete with Marc Mariani for the return duties.
Matthew Wells
The Bears acquisition from the trade with the New England Patriots a few weeks ago has been cut. The linebacker was notified earlier Saturday. The player the Bears sent over in the trade, Ryan Groy, was placed on waivers by the Patriots.
Jonathan Anderson
Another candidate that I thought played well enough in the preseason to earn a spot has been placed on waivers. He could return as part of the practice squad. Anderson had a nice showing in preseason games.
Michael Ola
Former starter Michael Ola has been waived by the Bears. Sun Times beat writer Patrick Finley reports that teams are already calling about Ola.
Hearing teams already checkin on Michael Ola, who started 12 games at 4 spots last year. #Bears told him they're waiving him

Gannon Sinclair
Sinclair’s stint with the Bears is cut very short.
Ify Umodu
Umondu has been placed on waivers by the team but could be back with the practice squad according to Brad Biggs. The team likes Umodu’s special teams talent which is the main reason they might give him another look.
Zac Dysert
#Bears are expected to place QB Zac Dysert on waivers.
— Brad Biggs (@BradBiggs) September 5, 2015
The quarterback’s stint with the Bears is officially over after being claimed just last week by the team. Dysert didn’t perform well in limited action vs. the Browns as David Fales saved his roster spot.
Terry Williams
Williams has also been placed on waivers by the Bears.
Conor Boffeli
The offensive lineman has been placed on waivers.
Mason Foster
The first big surprise cut comes with Mason Foster as the Bears have released the inside linebacker. Foster had a nice showing against the Browns on Thursday, but it wasn’t enough to earn him a roster spot.
Mason Foster – cut by #Bears today – earned top-12 preseason ILB grade from @PFF among 110 qualifiers. 15 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble.

Dante Rosario & Bear Pascoe
The Bears tight end situation is becoming more clear now with both Rosario and Pascoe being released by the team. The initial thought is that Zach Miller has won the backup job and undrafted rookie Khari Lee will make the team.
Kyle Woestman
Outside linebacker Kyle Woestman has also been placed on waivers after a nice showing against the Cleveland Browns.
Qumain Black
The Bears have placed the cornerback on waivers.
