The Chicago Bears need to make a decision quickly after interviewing their top choice for their next Head Coach.
The Chicago Bears are in the pursuit to find their next head coach after firing Matt Eberflus after devasting Thanksgiving Day game loss. So far, their top choice to become the Chicago Bears Head Coach is current Detroit Lions Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson, who just completed an interview with the Bears per their X account.
Best candidate for the job

Ben Johnson has led the Detroit Lions to being one of the best offenses in of Football with having them ranked atop of off the major categories. Finish second in Total Offense (409.5 yds), second in Passing (263.2 yds), sixth in Rushing (146.4 yds), and first in Scoring Offense (33.2 points per game) adding Johnson to be the Bears next Head Coach would be critical given how awful the Chicago Bears offense was last season.
It would also be beneficial to hire Johnson given how well he has worked with Jared Goff and how much he’s gotten out of him since coming to Detroit. With Caleb Williams rookie season seeing ups and downs it will be key to bring in a keen offensive mind to help Williams further in his development and help him meet his potential.
Need to make a quick decision

The Bears need to make a quick decision on whether or not they want to hire Ben Johnson given that the pool of potential head coaches is small. With the Bears other top choice Mike Vrabel being courted to become the New England Patriots head coach with the recent firing of Jerod Mayo and most likely going to take the position the Bears need to pounce now to get something done before they lose out on both Vrabel and Johnson.

Did you say Williams had a bad rookie season? What channel are you watching?
1) Caleb Williams did not have a bad rookie season. He threw for over 3500 years, and ran for nearly 500 meaning he had over 4000 total yards. He threw over 20 TDs and had an 87.8 rating. He was about middle of the pack for all QBs in stats, meaning he had a good rookie season. No it wasn’t as good as Jayden or Stroud last year but it was not a bad season.
2) They cannot move fast on Ben Johnson. Besides the fact no NFL team is going to hire a coach without an in person, you cannot make a job offer until the coach’s season is done. Sure they might do the wink wink nod nod of it with the agent after the in person and not announce until Lions lose or the Super Bowl but this is NOT a fast process unless they somehow hire Vrabel or Carroll.
