Chicago Bears player to watch: Zacch Pickens – DL
One of my personal favorite picks from the 2023 draft was defensive lineman Zacch Pickens out of South Carolina. I’m very intrigued by his play so far in camp and can’t wait to see how he does on the game field this coming weekend. He has all the potential to become that three-technique tackle that this Chicago Bears defense would love to utilize.
He was named the second-string DT on the Bears first unofficial depth chart, as it seems Pickens’ size, athleticism, and strength are all being noticed in camp. He and his rookie counterpart Gervon Dexter have been turning heads with their solid production so far. Obviously, much will need to be improved on, but this is a good sign.
Someone more people need to talk about is Zacch Pickens ‼️
Dudes been having a camp so far. In the backfield, blowing up plays, and is FAST for an interior DL.
Don’t sleep on him come week 1….him and Dexter Sr. on the inside will be 🔥 pic.twitter.com/sVbsDcJ26c

Pickens will be mentored by a much better group then most anticipated the Chicago Bears having this year. Veteran Justin Jones being in that defensive lineman room will help the younger guys mature fast, and possibly contribute in a big way during the 2023-24 season. He’s already been praising Pickens for his work ethic and ability to adapt already.
Don’t get me wrong, you should watch Dexter too. I’m very excited for him as well, but Pickens seems more NFL ready where Dexter needs to fine tune a few things at the next level.
