Chicago Bears player to watch: Tyrique Stevenson – CB
Tyrique Stevenson is another rookie from the 2023 class who much of the fanbase is extremely excited to watch. The corner from Miami will immediately challenge for a starting spot in the secondary, as reports have been nothing but good coming out of camp. His length and strength at the position are very reminiscent of Jalen Ramsey’s, All-Pro CB for the Miami Dolphins.
He and his rookie counterpart Terrell Smith have been battling it out for that outside corner position all camp. Practice is obviously a good source of evaluation, but what you do on Sunday’s ultimately what matters. I’ll be interested to see how Stevenson adjusts to the bigger, faster wide outs at the professional level.
Fields tries a sidearm to DJ Moore on an out that's broken up by Tyrique Stevenson. Nice play by the rookie.

The city of Chicago and this Bears fanbase seems to already be growing on Stevenson, as he praised them in a recent interview just a few days ago. Good to see him buying into the culture already.
Stevenson’s play this year could also decide the future for current number one corner, Jaylon Johnson, who enters this season as his final year under contract. Money won’t likely be an issue for the Chicago Bears anytime soon with all the cap they have, and rookie deals they’re on; however, they may be reluctant to pay Johnson unless he has a stellar year.
