Can you believe that Chicago Bears football is just a day away? The Bears will open the 2015 NFL preseason on Thursday night when they host the Miami Dolphins.
On Wednesday the Bears released their first unofficial depth chart:

Now the first depth chart of the preseason doesn’t really mean too much. The starters will be on a play limit according to John Fox. So we should see the starters play about 13-15 plays at the max. Tomorrow’s game will give us a good feel on who has the inside track and where.
Some notes on the depth chart include safety Brock Vereen getting the nod over the veteran Ryan Mundy. Going into camp it was figured to be Mundy and Antrel Rolle as the starting safety combo.
We already knew that Shea McClellin and Christian Jones were the leaders at inside linebacker. But now we know that Jared Allen and free agent signee Pernell McPhee are the outside linebackers.
Another thing that I noticed is Terrance Mitchell over Al Louis-Jean for the backup cornerback spot. The Bears thought highly of Louis-Jean going into training camp, but Mitchell has had a very impressive camp. I wouldn’t be shocked if Mitchell’s role increased throughout the preseason.
