The Chicago Bears have announced the singing of veteran cornerback Tracy Porter on Monday. The former second round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft has spent seven seasons in the NFL with four teams. He was originally drafted by the New Orleans Saints and had a key interception of Peyton Manning in Super Bowl XLIV.
Porter has started 60 of the 68 games he’s appeared in including all six playoff games. He has 288 tackles, 10 interceptions, three return touchdowns, four forced fumbles, 2.5 sacks and 52 pass break-ups in his career.
The 28-year-old is reunited with head coach John Fox whom he played under in 2012 in Denver. The move adds some depth for the Bears at cornerback and some more competition in training camp.
