The Chicago Bears have announced the signing of veteran wide receiver Josh Morgan to a one-year contract on Monday. The terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed.
Morgan, who has spent seven years in the NFL, finished last season with the Washington Redskins. He wasn’t a featured target in Washington, finishing with 20 receptions for 214 yards. This was fresh off of a nice 2012 season where he finished with 48 receptions for 510 yards.
He was drafted in 2008 by the San Francisco 49ers and spent four years with the team. Morgan will likely compete for the third or fourth wide receiver position as well as a spot on special teams.
Morgan is just another receiver added to the list of potential replacements for Earl Bennett who was released after denying a pay cut this off-season.
