Chicago Bears round two target: Nic Scourton

The Bears went out and added an edge rusher in free agency, but that should not stop them from trying to draft one on Friday. Dayo Odeyingbo received a three-year contract from the Bears in free agency and he will begin the season on the opposite side of Montez Sweat. Chicago has lacked depth in the pass rushing department over the past few years, and Scourton could fit the mold of what they are looking for on day two.
Scourton spent just one year at Texas A&M and recorded five sacks and 37 total tackles in 2024. He was at Purdue for the previous two seasons and collected a 10-sack campaign in 2023, which caught the attention of the A&M coaching staff.
The Bryan, TX native weighs 285-pounds, which is within the ideal range that new Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen likes his edge rushers at. Scourton has a good pass rushing package and brings elite first-step quickness to the table, which is exactly what the Chicago Bears need.
