Chicago Bears round three target: Dylan Sampson

While it is extremely possible for the Chicago Bears to take a running back earlier on in day two, there will be options for them in the third round if it’s needed. Sampson would fit the mold of what the Bears are looking for in a compliment back to D’Andre Swift after he spent the last three years down in Knoxville with the Tennessee Volunteer program.
Sampson finished his third and final season as a Volunteer in breakout fashion. He had 258 carries for 1,491 yards and 22 scores on the ground. Sampson showing his ability to be a pure workhorse back could be convincing enough for the Bears to give him a chance to be involved in their two-back system for the foreseeable future.
Sampson’s explosiveness and patience makes him a strong prospect to be taken in the second day of the draft. His frame might be concerning for the Chicago Bears’ front office, but his style would still play off Swift’s very well and he has good pop as a pass protector. Chicago desperately needs a back that can be productive while serving as a solid blocker, and Sampson fits that description.
