The Chicago Bears have finally found a suitor for tight end Martellus Bennett.
That team? The New England Patriots. The two teams came to an agreement on a trade Wednesday night as ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported:
Wheeling and dealing continues: Bears are trading TE Martellus Bennett to Patriots for draft-pick compensation, league sources tell ESPN.

The Bears will also send a sixth round pick with Bennett in exchange for the Patriots fourth round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft. Bennett had one year left on his deal and did not show up to voluntary workouts in the 2015 offseason. He was put on IR in November after suffering an injury.
In three seasons with the Bears, Bennett had 208 receptions for 2,114 yards and 14 touchdowns.
