How will Williams handle his first training camp?
With all of the attention on Caleb Williams, we have to remember that he is still a rookie. As good as he is, he will have his ups and downs. He is learning the intricacies of being a quarterback in the NFL.
Every move Williams makes will be scrutinized. He feels he is ready for this, however. He was trained to eventually become the number one pick and he did it. Now he is preparing to be the best player in the NFL. He doesn’t let what other people think of him to affect him.
Williams has the tools to be a successful player. He has a great arm, a great football IQ, and the ability to make big plays. In fact, there are times when he depends on his big play ability too much. Additionally, he invites the critics and the pressure. He feels that he will always win. It might not be true sometimes, but that attitude will take him far.
There was another Chicago great who had that attitude. Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever. His refusal to accept defeat was a big motivation. He famously said that he never lost a game, he only ran out of time.
This is what WIlliams strives to be — the greatest. He sees Tom Brady‘s seven championships and says he wants eight. He sees what Jordan accomplished and wants to be just as dominant.
It starts with this training camp. His journey to greatness begins when training camp begins. This is everything he hoped for and he is ready. The wait will be over. The gloves are taken off and he takes off. He has his family and the Chicago Bears behind him. He has been winning over his teammates already. Now, at training camp, he gets a chance to impress them even more.
