Papa Bear finally has a statue.
The Chicago Bears unveiled a new George Halas statute outside of Halas Hall in Lake Forest Sunday with a special ceremony. On hand were former Bears players Dick Butkus and Gale Sayers who were apart of arguably the greatest draft class for a individual team in 1965.
The statue, honoring the team’s founder, sits right outside the entrance of Halas Hall. It features Halas pointing onto the field as he’s walking the sidelines.
