Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace was busy at work again on Tuesday as the team announced they have waived safety Brock Vereen.
The Bears announced the move to waive the second-year safety via press release, showing that Pace is not happy with the teams play. Vereen struggled in Sunday’s game vs. Seattle, giving up a touchdown to Jimmy Graham as he failed to make a tackle. The 2014 fourth-round pick never really fit into the Bears defense, struggling with tackling and covering receivers when needed.
The move by Pace gets rid of another signing, draft pick from the Phil Emery era as that now makes three moves in the past two days. On Monday, the Bears traded Jared Allen (free agent signing) to Carolina and Jon Bostic (2013 draft pick) to New England.
In addition to waiving Vereen, the Bears also signed safety Chris Prosinski and linebacker LaRoy Reynolds. Prosinski has 9 starts in 56 games in his four year NFL career that included stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles.
Reynolds meanwhile, has appeared in 30 games making three starts in three seasons with the Jaguars.
