The Chicago Bears made a roster move on Tuesday afternoon when they officially waived wide receiver Santonio Holmes. The move opens up a roster spot which will likely be used for Marquess Wilson as he looks like he’s ready to come back from injury.
Holmes had eight catches for 67 yards in 9 games for the Bears, as he was the teams third wide receiver. Holmes did serve as the teams primary pun returner for those nine games as well.
In addition to the Holmes move, the Bears signed former Northwestern wide receiver Rashad Lawrence to the practice squad and terminated the contract of linebacker Terrell Manning from the practice squad.
