Round 1 (Chicago Bears pick): Sedrick Van Pran, Center, Georgia
This next pick for the Chicago Bears will address a need that’s going to be huge following this season, and that’s center. Cody Whitehair has been inconsistent in all facets of the game, the future of the guards is definitely to be desired, so this makes sense here. It may be a reach as Van Pran has a late-first/early-second grade, but I think he’s worth it.
Van Pran is a Georgia Bulldog, and those players have been pretty good in the NFL as of late, if you didn’t know. With his huge 6-foot 4 frame and weighing in at 310 pounds, Van Pran is a force in the middle of the line. He’s been referred to as a “mauler” in the run game and provides scheme versatility that many NFL teams look for when building the trenches.
Think he can’t move? Check out the clip below. Sedrick Van Pran has future All-Pro written all over him.

As a pass protector he needs work, but the potential is there for him to become a stud at the center position. He could probably move to either guard spot with ease if that’s his best fit in the NFL, but I think he’ll stay at center if drafted by the Chicago Bears.
In 2022, Van Pran appeared in 13 games and totaled 852 snaps, giving up 8 QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing at center. Pretty impressive numbers for a guy who plays in the toughest conference in the country. I’d love to see him in a Chicago Bears uniform come 2024, especially if the o-line woes continue.
