Round 2: Andrew Mukuba, Safety, Clemson
As we head into round two, I believe two major needs have been addressed: center and edge rusher. Now moving on to another need, safety, and in particular free safety. Veteran Eddie Jackson will turn 30 this December, and he’ll be entering the final year of his contract with the Chicago Bears following the end of this season.
It makes sense that the Bears will look to find his replacement this coming offseason, as Jackson’s play has definitely taken a decline in recent years, which is expected with his age and him being a part of a rebuild. A perfect guy to take over would be Andrew Mukuba out of Clemson, one of the drafts most highly anticipated safeties.

Mukuba is fast, physical single high safety who I think would excel next to Jaquan Brisker for the future of the Chicago Bears. The potential is through the roof for Mukuba who runs a 4.3 40-yard dash, tracks the ball well down field, and is still a physical force in the run game. His game will translate to the next level with ease. Last year in coverage, he totaled 2 pass breakups and one interception to go along with 41 tackles.
He has the tendency to get beat deep when he’s too aggressive, as that’s something he’ll need to work on when he does get drafted. He’s got a second-round grade at the moment, but if he makes more splash plays and cleans up his game, he could get into round-one territory.
