Round 3: Brandon Dorlus, EDGE, Oregon
Join me in manifesting Dorlus lasting until the third round. It’s possible but based off his strong start to the collegiate season, he could sneak into the second or maybe first round. If the Chicago Bears double up on edge rusher, I think many fans will be happy.
Dorlus stands 6 foot 3 inches and weighs in at an impressive 290 pounds, as he’s a force in the pass rush for the Ducks. He’s a strong, physical menace off the edge – who fits the new Chicago Bears mold to a tea – and has the potential to be a 3-down player in the NFL. NFL Draft Buzz writes that his spin move is “already NFL caliber”.

His motor and physicality alone will make him a serviceable player in the NFL, but if he dedicates more time on his finesse and ability to get to the quarterback, he could become elite. He needs to be drafted to the right team that can develop him and let him come along slowly rather than being plugged right into the lineup.
Do the Chicago Bears have the staff for that task? At the moment, I don’t know. But he could make a difference in the pass rush if brought in correctly.
