Round 4: Oronde Gadsden II, WR, Syracuse
The 6 foot 5 Oronde Gadsden II is a physical and fast wide out for the Orange, and someone who could replace current Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool as their ‘big body’ guy outside. If you watched Week 1’s loss to the Packers, you know why Claypool need to be replaced after his contract expires in 2024.
As a sophomore last year, Gadsden played 12 games and had 54 catches for 889 yards for an average of 16.5 yards per catch, and added in 6 touchdowns, including a game-winning touchdown against Purdue. He’s a really good route runner with strong hands, while using his huge frame to overcome smaller defensive backs.
One of the best games all season last year was Purdue vs Syracuse!
With 7 seconds left, Garrett Shrader found Oronde Gadsden II for the 25 yard game winning TD!

Gadsden won’t overwhelm you with his speed or agility, but he has the potential to be a real good run blocker with his size, something that the Chicago Bears desperately need at the wide receiver position. He could slip into the later rounds, and maybe turn into a steal at the end, but I have a fourth-round grade on him at the current moment.
I plan on doing these either weekly, or bi-weekly, so please keep your eye out for the next mock draft.
