The Chicago Blackhawks made their first move on the first day of free agency as they have agreed to a one-year contract with Brad Richards. The one-year deal is worth just $2M according to Darren Dreger.
The 34-year-old scored 20 goals and had 31 assists in 82 games for the Rangers last season. The Ranger bought out Richards contract that was worth $60 million over 9 years.
Richards is expected to compete to fill the void as the second-line Center, with young Teuvo Teravainen also in the mix.
