Bruce Brown (Forward)
Last season: 9.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals per game
Bruce Brown is the definition of a scrapper that can fill up the stat sheet each night with all kinds of numbers. Brown provides rebounding, blocks, and steals, he can hit threes, is not a bad free-throw shooter, and can also make the read to find the open man. One great example of what he’s capable of can be seen in his recent stat line in Game 2 against the Celtics: 23 points, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 8 rebounds, and a steal. In the following Game 4, he did it again with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
It’s no wonder why Brooklyn wasted no time in sliding Brown into the starting spot in 2021. Honestly, taking a look at his game log is something to see in terms of his productivity each night. Brown’s numbers don’t immediately jump off the page, but his work has been an essential part of what has helped Brooklyn overcome the constant double teams to their superstars. With all the attention DeMar DeRozan gets as soon as he touches the ball on offense, Brown would excel in helping DeRozan with screens, open threes, and offensive rebounds.
