The Chicago Bulls are set to host the Detroit Pistons at the United Center in back-to-back games this week before the team gets a break for the All-Star game.
The Bulls enter the week with a 22-31 record. They hold the No. 10 spot in the Eastern Conference by 1.5 games over the Philadelphia 76ers, who received bad news on Joel Embiid over the weekend. Chicago’s goal is to see how its young roster can develop and compete through the rest of the regular season after trading away Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings.
The Bulls will get to see more rotational players have playing time against the Pistons on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Chicago Bulls have two players battling an illness

Per K.C. Johnson of CHSN, Lonzo Ball and Ayo Dosunmu are battling an illness this week.
“Lonzo Ball (illness) missed practice and almost certainly won’t play on Tuesday because he doesn’t play B2B and missing Tuesday gives him one more day of rest,” Johnson wrote. “Ayo Dosunmu was sent home from facility with illness, per Donovan.”

It’s not clear what illness the two players have.
Illness was a big storyline last week before Super Bowl LIX. Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles battled the flu.
Tuesday’s meeting will be the third of the season between the Bulls and Pistons. Detroit won the most recent matchup 147-136 on Feb. 2.
