Zach LaVine’s consecutive 30+ point streak was snapped in loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Chicago Bulls were defeated by the second worst team in the NBA the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 119-113 in their second straight loss at home. Zach LaVines consecutive 30+ point a game streak was snapped in the loss with falling short of extending it by just five points.
Two consecutive losses at home
The Bulls loss to the New Orleans Pelicans marks their second straight loss in a row. This also is the Bulls second consecutive loss at home after losing to the Sacramento Kings 124-119. For their efforts both Chicago Bulls stars Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic were outstanding in the game with both scoring over 20+ points and Vucevic securing 15 rebounds wasn’t enough to get the Bulls the victory.
LaVine for his part played 38 minutes shot 66.7% from three scored 25 points, had 7 rebounds, and 5 assist. Vucevic in the game played a total of 35 minutes and put up a line of 22, 15, and 2.
It was the turnovers that did it in for the Bulls however, with the team turning the ball over a total over fifteen times compared to the Pelicans only turning the ball over ten times. Even though LaVine was great on the scoring end he was the teams leader in turnover with having five total for the game.
Underrated performance of the night
Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddy was outstanding in the loss with scoring 7 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, 5 of which he grabbed off the offensive glass, with also being the teams top facilitator with 12 assist, and collecting 4 steals in 33 minutes. This marks Josh Giddy’s third straight game with having over 10 rebounds in a game. In Giddy’s last ten games he is averaging a total of 12 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 6 assist, with shooting 85.7% from the free from line.
Outstanding performances from the Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelican’s were catapulted to their victory on the backs of the Pelicans big men Trey Murphy III and Zion Williamson. Murphy III for his part had a whopping 32 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assist, 3 steals, with shooting 45% from the field, and abysmal 15.4% from three in 36 minutes.
Zion in just 23 minutes put up 21 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assist with shooting a horrible 25% from the free throw line.
Quick turn around
Even though the Chicago Bulls lost to the second worst team in the league they now have to quickly turn around and play the Atlanta Hawks who are just ahead of them in the Eastern Conference standings. Trae Young and his 20-19 Hawks are coming in looking to add another win to their column after defeating the Phoenix Suns 122-117. The Atalanta Hawks are 2-3 in their last five games with Trae Young averaging 22.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 12.1 assist (good for first in the NBA), and shooting 40.1% and 33.9% from both the field and behind the arc for the season. The Bulls will hopefully get back on track and put a win back on the board.
