Alex Caruso
2021-22 Stats: 41 games played, 7.4 points, 4.0 assists, 3.4 rebounds per game
Caruso’s hard-nosed style of play would be welcomed in the starting role by many when comparing all the options the Bulls have at the point guard spot.
His reliability remains an issue, as he has yet to play more than 64 games since being drafted back in 2017. This season, Chicago can only hope he can remain healthy enough to help the squad fill the point guard duties in the absence of Ball. After playing 41 games last season, Caruso started in 18 of those games and has been able to contribute behind his steals (1.7 per game) and his timely shooting.
Now entering his second year with Chicago, this would be a good time to get Caruso comfortable with the starting lineup while Dragic and Ayo Dosunmu contribute off the bench early in the season. Caruso has been in the league long enough (5 years) and also has a Championship ring with the Lakers from two years ago. His experience could be just what Chicago needs with this gap at the point guard position. On the contrary, some may believe his style of play would be more valuable if he was coming off the bench for the Bulls.
