Chicago Bulls reporter Sam Smith reports that the Bulls have reached out to free agent guard Ray Allen. The 39-year-old averaged 9.6 points and shot 38 percent from the three-point line with the Miami Heat last season.
Smith writes:
The Bulls are believed to be among almost a dozen teams to have contacted Allen and his representatives.
In fact, it would be a surprise if just about every team other that the non competitive 76ers have not contacted Allen, a savvy veteran who can make three pointers and likely will play for a veterans’ minimum.
Allen has generated attention from other contenders including the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers, among other teams. There’s a fit in Chicago for Allen who is looking to capture one more ring before wrapping up his NBA career.
