Trade Deadline is now just four days away. Here are the latest rumors for the Chicago Cubs.
Kosuke Fukudome has drawn interest from a few teams. Indians are one of four possible teams with interest in Fukudome. With the injuries of Indians outfielders Grady Sizemore and Shin-Soo Cho, they need another outfielder who can play good defense. However, Fukudome has a no limited no trade clause to six teams and it is unknown if the Indians are one of them.
Cubs called Yankees on Zambrano. The Yankees told the Cubs they have no interest. However, a good outing by Zambrano Wednesday against the Brewers could help that.
Ramirez rumors have calmed down as he refuses to waive his no-trade clause. It has now been reported that the Cubs and Ramirez may be working on a one or two year extension.
John Grawbow has drawn interest from a few teams, but his inconsistency may scare teams away. Just like Big Z, a good week could help his value a little.
The Cubs could trade Reed Johnson or Jeff Baker. Both players have very good batting average and on base percentage against lefties. Playoff contenders who are looking to strengthen their bench would possible be interested. However, the Cubs want to two players to be big part of the bench in 2012.
Sources said the Cubs are willing to pay a large amount of Soriano’s contract if they can trade him. But teams aren’t interested in the struggling left fielder.
And finally Pena is expected to remain a Cub for the rest of the year.
The Trade Dealine is Sunday at 3p.m
